When you create an account on MathLyft, we collect the following information:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and account type (parent or teacher).
  • Student profiles: Names and optional grade levels for students you add to your account.
  • Practice data: Quiz assignments, answers, scores, accuracy, and time spent on each question.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the MathLyft service
  • Generate personalized quizzes that prioritize weak areas and unseen facts
  • Display progress reports and practice history
  • Authenticate your account and maintain your session

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission and httpOnly session cookies for authentication. We do not store passwords in plain text.

4. Children's Privacy

MathLyft is designed to be used by parents and teachers on behalf of children. Children do not create their own accounts. A parent or teacher creates and manages all student profiles, and access to a student profile requires the adult-account holder to share a child code. Student profiles contain only a first name and optional grade level. we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. We do not use your data for advertising. The only third-party service that processes your data is Google Firebase, which provides authentication and database infrastructure.

6. Data Retention

Your account data and practice history are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual student profiles at any time, which removes their associated practice data. You can delete your entire account at any time from the Profile screen in the app or on the web. Account deletion is permanent and removes all student profiles, quiz history, and practice data.

7. Cookies

We use a single httpOnly session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party cookies.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting a notice on the website.
